The children in Moonglade Studio have been learning different ways of Independence and self-reliance. Educators have been leading guided sessions on emotional regulation, social skills and self-expression. The children have also been showing an increased capacity to organise themselves and ‘have a go’ before seeking assistance.
They choose activities to work on in the room, go and get a drink if they need one, serve their own food and address their toileting needs (or at least start to recognise them) themselves. It’s very empowering to encourage young children to become self-reliant; one really start to notice their confidence improve and a stronger sense of self identity.
