Drive over to Kensington this Sunday with your family for the Kensington CommUNITY Festival. Unison Housing along with the residents and community organisations of Kensington have planned a range of fun activities and games and will be setting up food trucks and staging performances.

What’s On Schedule?

The Festival will open at 10:00am with a speech from the organisers and a performance by the Festival Children’s choir. There will be more musical performances; the Kensington Chinese Choir will take the stage later in the morning followed by the Kensingers Community Choir and the School of Living Music.

Through the day, there will be classes that the whole family can try from hula hooping to tai chi to African drumming.

Activities and Games

The Festival has also put together a scavenger hunt of sorts; through the Festival Activity Passport.

As you and your little one navigate all these activities, getting them done in time for the prize draws will add an extra layer of excitement to the day!

There’s a variety of other activities that will delight your little one; stop by Farmer Darryl’s mobile petting zoo, visit the face painting station and the jumping castle and stop to watch the women’s circus. There’ll be an arts and crafts space, a stall running treasure hunts and a bowling pop up.

The Kensington CommUNITY Festival promises a fun time for the whole familly

There will be plenty of food trucks dishing up a range of different cuisines including the Songhum Sisters African Inspired Curries, Happy Mexican Street Food and Mary Jane’s Burgers.

As well as promising a day full of fun, festivals like these help children feel more connected to their community and enhance their social skills.
