  • Create ~ Creating in nature is a beautiful artistic practice that combines many physical skills and cognitive exercises. It allows us to test out colour combinations, patterns and symmetry.

If you’re looking to get your hands dirty and plant your own edible garden, Melbourne Bushfood is an amazing local company that sells, educates and shares amazing resources to create a thriving ecosystem in your backyard.

We understand that not everyone has the space to create their own garden, however, it’s amazing what you can simply grow in pots on your balcony or even kitchen bench!

Some simple herbs to get started with might be:

  • Parsley 
  • Thyme 
  • Basil
  • Chives 
  • Tomatoes (not a herb but very easy to grow in a range of conditions as it is a hardy plant)


Did you know that getting your hands dirty with good microbes from the soil can even improve our gut microbiome? Having a good gut microbiome is important to stay protected against pathogens, disease and even mental health conditions. There’s even a particular bacteria that is serotonergic, meaning it can affect the release of serotonin (the happy hormone) in our body. Read all about it here:
