In Seamist Studio we have been setting up obstacle courses for the children to explore outside. At first the children were hesitant but then the educators demonstrated how to move through the equipment and the children had a marvelous time negotiating their bodies through different types of equipment.
The children exhibited their physical skills by co-coordinating their body movements with spatial awareness. It was also nice to see older children taking the lead whilst the younger ones followed them.
The educators will continue to set up obstacle courses to challenge children’s physical skills. This type of activity also develops children’s resilience and sense of achievement.
