Children are huge fans of finger food – from fries, to chips to pizzas. However, there is a healthier way to go when it comes to finger food. This easy to make sausage rolls recipe is sure to be a hit with your little one!

Instructions: 

500 grams ready made puff pastry

Plain flour, for dusting

1 egg, beaten

8 Herb sausages, cut into halves

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Small handful fresh thyme leaves

Directions:

Preheat an oven to 200C.

Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface.

Cut the pastry sheet into 16 even rectangles.

Brush each side of each rectangle with a little of the beaten egg.

Lay the one sausage half on each of the sheets and season with salt, pepper and the thyme leaves.

Roll the pastry around each of the sausage and enclose.

Place in the fridge for 20 minutes to allow the pastry to hardon.

Take the rolls out and brush each roll with the rest of the beaten egg.

Bake for 30 minutes until the rolls are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
