This weekend promises to be absolutely gorgeous with the smell of Fall in the air and several exciting and fun events and activities across the city. We’ve put together a list of entertaining, educational activities you can take your little one to.
Aladdin and the Arabian Tales
If you haven’t seen it already, head to the Frankston Waterfront see Aladdin, Jasmine and the little monkey Abu come to life in towering sand sculptures. Your little one will be fascinated to see seemingly still piles of sand transform into a work of art. Watching it will inspire their creativity as well!

Exhibition: Wild City
ArtPlay invited 6-10 year olds to try their hand at making a small city into a green, environmentally vibrant space. Their ideas are part of a campaign to make Melbourne’s parks and bridge a more animal friendly environment. For the event, children and accompanying adults can see the participants’ beautiful creations and come to understand a little more about the importance of animals and being environmentally friendly.

Alex and Luke’s Magic Act
As a part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Alex and Luke take the stage in this hilarious magical performance for children aged 5-12. The duo are at magic school and are working hard to pull of the ultimate trick – to make their parents disappear! Little ones will be wonderstruck with the magicians’ antics and humour.

Brat Kids Carnival
Also a part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Brat Kids Carnival is a lively show which has jugglers, hula hoopers, trapeze artists, tumblers, contortionists and lots and lots of humour that will have both children and adults in fits of laughter. Brat Kids is a part of Channel 10’s Totally Wild show so you can be assured a top end performance.

Japan Matsuri Anniversary Festival
Take your little one to this festival to give them a little insight into Japanese culture. There’ll be a special kid’s craft rom at the festival as well as a special story time session. Cultural festivals enhance little children’s connection to their community, encourage tolerance and acceptance and help them establish a stronger sense of identity.
