It is such a wonderful thing when children offer to help with tasks around the room. Often in Seamist when educators sit down and complete what we would consider quite menial tasks, children will more often than not sit near to us or start mimicking our actions or behavior to complete a task. Children are like sponges and not only soak up information rapidly but remember what to do next time a task is repeated.
Thank you to the little helpers who help us with our daily duties. We hope to instill a sense of responsibility for the running of the room and a strong sense of purpose. The educators will continue to allow children to assist with tasks around the room, we often find that children take more pride in and care of the learning space if they contribute to it in a meaningful way.
