In Willow Walk Kindergarten, the children have been working on a project for Easter using the principles of pottery!
Each of them have been asked to create an Easter bunny out of clay. The educators talked to the children about their ideas before they commenced work and many discussions are had throughout the project to encourage children to explain their thinking and reasoning and produce the best piece that they can!
Children completed their bunnies, adding ears and drawing eyes using a special pencil.
Then the children suggested making an Easter egg holder. Using fine motor skills, eye hand coordination while controlling their muscles and paying close attention to small details, the children were able to create some magnificent masterpieces.
Using different mediums when engaging in creative and artistic experiences is wonderful for children as it opens up opportunities for them to explore ways to interact with a range of materials to unleash their creative expression!
