Sensory experiences provide creativity and fun as well as address a need for sensory stimulation from the external environment. Often young children are drawn to a variety of sensory stimuli as it can be very calming to them and they enjoy tactile materials. All children benefit from messy play and sensory play; it is an important aspect of their development and understanding of the world around them; in particular of the materials that make up the world around them. Nearly every day in every room at Aurora Early Education, educators ensure that sensory experiences are available for children to engage with.
