Willow Walk Kindergarten has been invited to participate in a sponsored program from RACV, titled the Seemore Safety Program. Over 2000 preschools and kindergarten in Melbourne CBD around Victoria have been provided the opportunity to participate. The program focuses on learning through literature using everyday situations and experiences to learn about being safe. Children interact with the Seemore Safety mascot in story books and participate in activities and games to learn about safe practices and injury risks. Children are taken on a journey that focuses on lifelong safety conceptualization.
In Willow Walk the children have already read two books about “Seemore Safety in the car” and “Seemore Safety at preschool”. Children have been sent home a Seemore Safety activity book. The Seemore mascot will visit the children’s houses and spend the weekend with their family.
A Journal called “Seemore Safety Journal” will accompany the mascot and children will be encouraged to write about their adventures and safety lessons learnt in the journal, bringing it back to the Aurora Early Education kindergarten to share with their friends.
