Whilst playing outside, the Moonglade children have shown an interest in moving the tyres around the yard. Some children have been challenging themselves to push and roll the tyre during solo play and some others have worked with their friends co-cooperatively to have some tyre fun. Utilising their upper and lower body strength and core muscles to push, roll and lift the tyres, the children’s gross motor skills are tested.

This activity also encourages the use of imagination and creativity as the children seek out resources within their environment to develop experiences and enhance their learning. Next week, the educators will place items around the yard to continue to prompt children to engage in activities that incorporate strength, balance and coordination.
